Flederland...What kind of a name is that? Well...for reasons I don't feel like sharing with you, my friends from my hometown of (Emmen, NL)have called me "Fledermaus" since I was 16 years old. The name for a website is merely a fusion of my nickname and my imaginary world.
Flederland is the world of my images, videos and music.

About Flederland
Flederland is a project I have been working on since 2003. The idea came when I was "engineering " photos in the analog photolab at Academie Minerva. Since then, the way in which I work has become more digital in nature and less documentary.

About Rutger
A little information on myself: I am Rutger Nieuwman and I was born in the lovely town Emmen with lots of inspiring people.
I went to school at the Hondsrug College in Emmen, where I did VWO Atheneum. After finishing that I was accepted to Academy Minerva in Groningen, where I graduated in february 2006.
